Considered a major source of information, laptop computer reviews come to the rescue of people who want to buy a new device but have the difficulty of choosing. Staying informed has its ups and downs. Even we think that we’ve got it all figured out, we may later realize that we have been wrong in the decision making. Or might that mistake have been made during the stage before the decision making itself? During research perhaps?

The rule of the thumb is to try and read several laptop computer reviews MORE before you consider you have obtained enough information for what you need. Why so much caution?

To begin with, laptop computer reviews, in fact most of gadget reviews, are written by people who are paid to write pretty many reviews perhaps in one single day. As a result, whether the writer wants it or not, he/she may end up laying pretty much the same thing on the paper, or the screen. Or, she/he may end up leaving pieces of information out since mistake is pretty common in human work when fatigue and monotony interfere.

Another reason why you should consult as many laptop computer reviews as possible is that this way you will surely come across reviews made by users of the product. These types of ratings and assessments are the ones that would most likely give you a realistic picture of how this device really works. Consumers guide themselves in choosing one product or another starting from some subjective considerations too, even if certain device descriptions leave details out. Certain types of laptop computer reviews will also give you a clue as to whether you are going for the right item or the model is too advanced. This allows one to identify the unnecessarily expensive tools, or the too basic and therefore cheap and useless.

Finally, various laptop computer reviews, especially if made by web sites and consumers, will stand apart in the type of information you can gather about one computer type or another. What may be missing in this assessment may be mentioned in another. Yet, the whole puzzle can never be solved until one purchases the product and sees how it works; however, the more numerous the evaluations, the better the image of the puzzle.

All in all, remember that random choices and ignorance can ruin your budget not to mention the risk of buying a poor quality computer. See how many laptop computer reviews you can dissect before making up your mind, unless you have technical training and know exactly the best laptop you are looking for.

If you’re in the market for a brand new laptop, you’ll definitely want to scout around and find the ideal computer hardware for your needs. Although laptops  come in all shapes and sizes, the following tips should guide you well enough to make a smart purchase.

The “tech specs” of your laptop is perhaps the most important consideration. Nothing more, nothing less; exactly what you need to match your activities. For example, you need totally different system if you’re just planning to use it for work purposes, as opposed to letting your laptops be your entire home entertainment system.

Different applications need different type of laptops, and getting more than what you need generally is a waste of savings. On the other hand, getting less than what you need will just frustrate you and waste your time.

The first thing you need to consider is the Central Processing Unit or CPU; it is the “brains” of your computer. Generally speaking a faster CPU is better as it will reduce loading and processing time, but there is a choice between Intel processors, or others.

Equally important is the weight, size and screen dimensions. If you like to keep it light and portable choose thinner ones that weight less than 1.2kg - these are usually on the higher price range but it will be worth the money, and the lack of aching backs!

Thirdly, and most importantly, the warranty period and service terms for your laptop. Generally speaking most laptops come with standard one-year warranty, but companies like Fujitsu also offer “extended” three-year upgrades and on-site repairs. If you get this as an option, it means that when your laptop breaks down you get someone come over to repair it at your place. Expect a premium for the “on-site” repairs, but extended warranties are quickly becoming standard items and you should kep your eyes open for laptop models that offer them at no extra cost.

As for personal choice, I prefer Lenovo laptops, especially the Lenovo Thinkpad series that is both affordable and sufficient for high-end processing. Ideally, any laptop you get should be good enough to get you through the next four years without needing an upgrade or replacement. Not many laptops fit the bill though, so shop for your laptop wisely!

Identifying one best gadgets in a domain or another has become almost a utopia on a market that is only interested in competition at the individual and corporate level alike . The same truth stays valid about the worst or the best laptop in the industrial sector of computer manufacturing. I dare say there is no such thing as the best laptop in the world as long as producers offer so many computers, laptops and accessories, and as long as most of these producers are all very good in their job.

Now, since this human and humane desire to classify things, services, people acts like an urge, we could still recognize one model or another as the best laptop of the moment or last year’s best laptop. Anyway, before starting such a discussion around which is or was the best laptop ever produced, we should first define the idea of best laptop so as to avoid the relativity of this form of labeling.

If you want to acquire the best laptop or at least one of the top 10 laptops on the market, you will have to look at a number of features of the computer. You can find these characteristics listed in the computer’s specifications. Search the Internet and the serious websites dealing in computers of all kinds and they will provide you with answers to almost any question that you might have. Read the FAQs section to make light in the fog search. To get the best laptop, or the right one for personal needs, you will definitely have to look for the characteristics of the computer that best serve your interests. Anyway, irrespective of your intentions with the laptop, it proves wise to investigate about the memory, processor, hard drive, size and price. One important aspect in deciding on the best laptop is its speed. Now here is another question. What is your idea of a fast best laptop and according to what criteria do you calculate speed? As mentioned above, it is again a matter of personal needs and interests.

What is unpleasant about computers in general and laptops in particular, is that no matter how close to the best laptop you might think you are or you really are, in the near future your choice will no longer be the best laptop. Everybody knows that the developments in the PC industry move so fast that it is almost always impossible to be the proud owner of the best laptop, the newest computer or anything of the sort.

Whether you are a small businessman or a college student, small laptops are practical and convenient for all your needs.  Hauling a large computer to classes or traveling with one on business trips just doesn’t work.

In today’s competitive computer market there are several manufacturers that produce powerful as well as extremely
portable small laptops.  These computers have all the speed and features anyone would need to perform almost any task.  They are a perfect size for travel on almost any form of transportation.

As a student you would be able study in any location and have quick and easy access to all your school files.  You could go home for a weekend or holiday whenever you want and not miss out on valuable study time.

Most of us have flown on an airplane and sat next to an annoying passenger who is trying to balance their huge laptop on the tiny tray in front of them.  You may have a long jaunt to your job or college classes on board the local community transportation network with lots of time to get some business or schoolwork done.  Small laptops are great for these situations.

There are a few key questions to ask yourself before shopping for one of these small laptops.  What will you primarily use it for?  How much memory or speed will you need?  Is it important for you to have a large screen and beefy speakers?  I have listed a few best laptops below as an example of what is out there and how much they cost.

ASUS Eee PC 904HA

This computer made the list of small laptops because it is the best value at $350. The price makes it affordable for the college student as well as the small business owner. It is a little heavier than the other small laptops and does not have a DVD drive. It does have a 160GB hard drive and three USB ports, so you can store movies easily.

HP Mini (AKA 2113)

These small laptops have been specifically created for the traveling population. It has an aluminum shell, titanium chasis, HP3D sever service hard drive and a moisture-resistant keyboard.  This is the smallest of the three and is only outmatched in thinness by the Mac Air. It is also a great value with a price tag around $750.

Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-S1001X

The Toshiba is probably one of the sturdiest and most durable small laptops. This computer is priced in the neighborhood of $800.  It has the ability to charge USB devices like an iPod even while shut down but plugged into an outlet.

Apple MacBook MB061LL/B

Apple has always been the top name in computers and it is the same when it comes to small laptops.  This MacBook lists for a little under $1000 making it the priciest in this group.  It is also bigger and weighs more.  A major concern for most laptop travelers is being able to get online.  This laptop is able to find a Wi-Fi connection literally anywhere.

Now you have an idea of what type small laptops are currently on the market.  Before you make a final decision, read some laptop reviews, do some price comparisons online or look in the local paper.  Talk to someone you know who may already own a small, portable computer to see how satisfied they are with the performance and travel-ability.

Competition seems to have reached incredible peaks with the rush for better working products in all the sectors of national economies. It is obvious that each company or producer, no matter in what field of activity, will always try to sell their products by pretending theirs are the best or at least better than the others’. Not only do producers try to push their products upfront but the market is full of consumer reviews and professional critical appreciations that create separate distinct tops and classification charts. This obviously happens in the field of computers, laptops and computer components too. For one interested in classifications, the Internet is the best source for information on top 10 laptops of 2008.

It is evident that each individual has his/her own preferences when it comes to computers and laptops. Therefore, you will find different top 10 laptops classified depending on the various factors that people refer to when deciding which laptops are better than others. The size is an important factor to analyze since people who travel a lot need small, light designs, even the tiny ultra portable ones like the Asus Eee PC. Other buyers closely analyze the RAM memory, responsible for data storage capacity, yet the higher the memory size, the more expensive the product. Last but not least, screen resolution is one final element to decide whether an item enters the top 10 laptops chart or not.

To provide an example of what top 10 laptops lists look like, we invite you to take a look at the following that includes the products progressively from the first to  the tenth: Apple MacBook Pro, Asus m70sa, Sony Vaio VGN-AR590E, Asus C90, Dell Inspiron 1525, Alienware m15x, Fujitsu Lifebook 8410, Lenovo ThinkPad R61, Apple MacBook Air, and Acer Ferrari 500. Such lists are compiled starting from the technical data posted on the official Internet pages of each and every producer.

Another chart design of top 10 laptops includes the following laptops: Acer Aspire One AOA110-1295 Notebook, Acer Aspire ONE A150-1447 Notebook, Apple 15″ MacBook Pro Notebook, Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Notebook - Customizable, HP (Hewlett-Packard) Pavilion Dv4-1120us Notebook, Sony Vaio Ns135 Notebook, Lenovo IdeaPad S10 Notebook, Apple 13.3″ MacBook Notebook, Asus Eee PC 1000H Notebook, Acer Aspire 6930-6455 Notebook. Even if the two models of top 10 laptops are similar, the slight distinction points out that this charting system is not 100% trustworthy due to the high versatility of the market sectors.
